Hiking in Northern California

If getting out in the wilderness for fresh air and exercise is on your Northern California vacation to-do list, then you’re sure to love hiking here at the Ranch. Explore over 20 glacially-carved alpine lakes in the nearby Lakes Basin Recreation Area. Try hiking a portion of the world-renown Pacific Crest Trail, that stretches from the Mexican border to Canada and happens to run by the Ranch. Our guides know all the prettiest spots for hiking in Northern California, where birds and wildlife abound. So whether you like your hikes hard-core, or gentle and relaxed, be sure to pack your hiking boots and get ready to hit the trails on your Northern California vacation.

In and around the Greenhorn, we have self-guided marked hiking trails ranging in difficulty and length.  From “City Slicker” (1.9 miles) to “True Grit” (9.6 miles) and everything in between.  We provide day packs, GPS app, and a brochure guide full of points of interest, flora and fauna.

Riding during the day and line dancing, bon fires, and karaoke at night. Met some great new friends. We were sad to leave and are already looking forward to coming back!
